No pictures to post

Reflective times when I speak with my friend Catherine.  I am reminded about how quickly time passes.  (Thanks Catherine!).  Anyway, it is not a good or bad thing but it reminds me not to spend some much time dwelling on small details.  Enjoy the moment and don't stress.

Life is stressful but not as stressful as we make it out to be in our heads most of the time.  Bad things happen to very good people.  We lose people that we never imagine we are going to lose.  This is how things happen in life.  I don't understand it, but I hope that some day I will.  Answers to all these unanswered questions can be very helpful to complete the circle that altogether seems to be much more ameoba shaped.

Anticipating tropical storm/hurricaine Isaac tomorrow but still have plans to move ahead as usual as long as I am not cautioned against this.  Justin is on call for his once a month on call time (don't miss that part for me in the least).  I have my time with my kiddos.  They are growing up so much.  At 2.5 years old, Ari believes that the sun rises and sets according to his mom and his sister.  Dad is good to have around to say the least.  Samantha worships Daddy.  Mommy is more often the "bad cop" but knows what do do and Daddy just enjoys his little girl.  She's a helper and loves to do it.  She listens intently and tries on her own.  So fun!

Hope to post some pictures soon.  We've been getting use out of the iphone which I LOVE but that means having to upload to the blog rather than just message or email the pictures.  Will do ...

I just love Saturdays

Wow, Saturdays are great.  I don't work traditionally, usually the kids are home and healthy and there is not a huge time crunch to get things done.  Yes, I do feel bad when I am not as "productive" on these days but at the same time it is a good day to play catch up with things that I just want to do -- like sitting and doing nothing but playing with the kids on the floor.  It's great.  Anyway, this morning we've been busy with a giant tea party that I wanted to share.  Just love these times.

April 2012

It's getting harder and harder to not let one day go into the next. We've been busy and it is mostly for good things. This month's monumental event was Ari's first haircut. I would just as soon let him keep going until 3, but he and Justin have been putting up a big stink about how hard it is to wash in the bath. Ari never knew what hit him with the strategically placed lollipop. He did great. Of course, Samantha had to get one of her own. She is such a seasoned pro. She got to sit on her own orange horse and everything. Ari is a grown up boy and is following in Daddy's footstep as he enjoys mopping the house with Mommy's shark. Ginger, is happy just to be included these days. She's doing well. She has a big birthday #7 coming up in July!

The big birthday!

What a day. It is not everyday that your little boy turns 2. The amazement, the wonder and the CAKE all over are just some of the joyous things that happen. We had a great day that started out stressful when we saw the radar report with rain covering the entire state of Florida. I had notified everybody that I could that we would be making a last minute decision. Turns out that things were fine. The first hour of the party was quite iffy with cold windy bursts but then it got better.

The pictures are not exactly in the correct order but needless to say with all the wind and the cold there was not lighting candle in the park so we did that later at home with less people around and enjoyed leftover cupcakes after dinner.

Where does the time go?

Things have been busy and then we were out of commission for a while while the whole family (except Samantha) got a pretty bad cold or sinus infection. The sinus infection was me and it seemed to go on forever and ever. Three weeks of antibiotics and I'm back to myself. So for the blog posting, sorry about the delay. We've been enjoying the wonderful Winter weather down here. Most days in the 70s and 80s and sunshine. We've had a little bit of rain that doesn't bother me and a day or two of cold weather where you need to wear long pants and a SWEATER. LOVE the weather down here. Sorry to rub it in for those of you suffering through actual winter. Here are some pictures of just relaxing and watching the kids grow.

Ari's 2nd birthday is coming up next week. We're all excited. Samantha is turning into one opinionated kid after being an opinionated toddler. Her recent adventure is that she wants her hair long. She sees that my hair gets longer when it is straightened so she requested the same for her. One day I gave in and you see the results of the proud day with her in her red dress and long hair. She wants it done everyday which I explained to her is NOT AN OPTION. She's now pushing me for ear piercing. What to do... anyway, all good.

Fall in Florida

Fall in Florida. Well I have to say that it is not like Fall. The leaves don't change, the weather doesn't get colder, there are no jackets or change in dress. But ... it's glorious. It's going to be Thanksgiving this week and we're still wearing shorts. Halloween passed and we wore a sweater at night but no jackets/boots/scarves. I don't like to be cold and so we're in the optimal spot. I do get nostalgic for the cider mills of Michigan and the bite in the air on fall evenings.

Thanks for the pep-talk

GG/Grandma thanks for the pep-talk! Love you!

Why oh why

I don't mean to be negative, but I don't understand why every time I sit down to write the blog posting so that I don't get a nasty message from some long-time followers, it doesn't work. I'll try again soon.

Our trip West 2011

We are just getting back from a wonderful trip back home. We flew out to Los Angeles first to see family including my grandmother (GG LA) and cousins/aunts/uncles ... we had a terrific time and iit is always too short. We stayed with my grandmother and I don't think that any of us were hungry the entire time because it is was more like an eat-fest when we are back home. All had a great time and the weather was terrific. We flew to Las Vegas to see my parents and my other grandmother (GG). We had a terrifc time. It was Sukkot so we enjoyed a Sukkah Hop and more parks and walking. We loved the time together before we came home to be shoved right back into the grind of things. Some pictures...
