Snow days!

This weekend was a big Mid-Atlantic snowstorm. It started out as being a 2-4 inchest expected. By the end on Sunday morning we had 24 inches! Besides just reaffirming our position to stay put, we had a lot of fun playing and shoveling in the snow.

Videos!

Okay, so I'm procrasting doing some work I need to get done but seriously. It is hard to just sit down and focus for me right now. Plus, I found a program that is helping me put the videos on ... AND WITH SOUND which has been sketchy in the past. So, now I'm going back through videos and watching and just loving seeing them. The one I'll post is "Ring around the Rosy" with Sam and her cousins. I can't believe how much she's grown from the babbler to the walker to the little toddler she is now. I love her!!!!! I can't believe she'll be 2 at the end of the week. Time flies!

Thanksgiving weekend

Spent in Long Island mostly relaxing with my parents and cousins. Got there Thurs afternoon in time for a nap and gathering later that day. Lots of delicious dishes, including Michelle's quiche and tofu-turkey with bbq sauce! Spent Friday relaxing at home, and went out Sat to the LI Children's Museum in Garden City. Sam had a blast as usual!

Our visit to NV/CA

Trying to put up another whole month in one blog posting. Life is such a whirlwind tour sometimes. I promise to keep up with postings more often so this doesn't happen again. I definitely don't want to upset the loyal followers.
So conference mixed with some pleasure. We sure enjoyed our trip last week. Besides small colds for Samantha and myself, we did pretty well. Justin and Samantha had some great adventures in San Diego and we enjoyed spending a lot of time time with family (Grandma, GG, Daddy...) and lots of friends!!! Some pictures that should be self-explanatory.

And lots of friends!!! Old ones and new ones. It's so great to reconnect with people and see the changes in everybody (all good ones).

Be patient

Patience is not one my my many virtues... you can ask my mom about that. Anyway, it's been a long time since the last posting and we have lots to catch up on. I'm going to put some pictures from October and one of our many trips to the Discovery Museum in Cherry Hill. Discovery museum is one of those hand's on places that kids love. My germ-phobic nature causes me to bring her there first thing in the morning before too many kids have slobbered over all the stuff. We do a LOT of hand-washing. Dress up is her favorite in addition to the ball tub.

More pictures to come but we'll have to go slow. :)

Labor Day Weekend 2009

A few updated pictures of our last free relaxing weekend before beginning work in NJ. We decided to head to the beach and relax at a park nearby that we'd never visited before. The weather for the beach was perfect. We got a little much sun despite high SPF. It got cooler over the next few days... guess the summer is ending.

The move to NJ

We've been terrible about posting ... I KNOW. It's been a long week and a half or so. We packed up from Michigan, took boards in Chicago after leaving Samantha in the trusted company of Larry and Naomi, then drove for 2 days to get to NJ. We got to the house in NJ and have been frantically unpacking and getting the place together. We had a couple recent relaxing days with trip to the park and walk in the neighborhood.

These are just some pictures from the move.

One picture with Samantha playing doctor. Ginger just being EXHAUSTED!

Package arrived

GG prepared me for a package that was set to arrive any day. To our surprise, today, a VERY rainy day we got our package. Made a great time opening and trying on clothes. Samatha loved her outfit but wanted to try on mommy's new nightgown. :) I do think she looks adorable. The look of excitement about the whole experience was priceless. THANK YOU GG!

Samantha loved posing for the camera and wanted to see each picture. Then... she wanted to take a picture of Ginger. Pretty good if I do say so myself. She's going to be another one in the family that may cut off heads in pictures in the future. ;)

Summer fun

Lots has been going on since our last posting. We had a successful 1,200 mile r/t drive to/from southern New Jersey last month. Along the way we saw old friends from medical school and met their new children as well. Samantha was a trooper for the long road trip. We secured housing and also took care of some paperwork/interviews with our respective employers. As an added treat my parents got to spend time with Samantha as well.

Samantha also had fun at the annual Salute to America-Greenfield Village on July 4th, with excellent fireworks concluding a live performance from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. We all had fun picnicing on the grass with Larry & Naomi.

The rest of our summer will be spent locally, packing up our home and planning our move to Cherry Hill, NJ the last week of August. We will miss those we leave behind here in Michigan, and look forward to starting a new chapter in our lives.

Judith and Sam's Wedding

We attended a lovely wedding for our cousin Judith this weekend. This was Samantha's first wedding that she could roam around a little bit (her second wedding ... David/Gretchen's was first a year ago today). We had a great time. Samantha really did great considering two very long days. There was lots of fun, food, and .... dancing. A few pictures. We'll try to get the videos up later when we can figure out how to edit all the times I had the camera down trying to chase Samantha.
